Day 5 - Perth to Kalgoorlie

Hello followers,

Well the trip started in Applecross saying good-bye and good luck to mates and then it was off to a little boutique supermarket to buy supplies, (we heard from Daffid that no big supermarkets would in fact be open on a Sunday in perth which I think is dumb to say the least)... So off we went and brought some awesome food to see out the next four or so days on the Nullarbor.

Then it was on the great Eastern highway straight to the east, there was actually corners this time so I had to be on my game, we stopped in a little town called Meckering and found out that this place was actually hit in 1968 with an earthquake that reached 6.9 on the Richter scale... (by the way they really look after their toilets in this place, clean as a whistle). This place had some awesome facts and some little reminders around the town of what it was like, which was pretty cool. Then it was back on the road to a town called Southern Cross where Heba took over the rains to start her leg of the drive.

We finally made it into the town of Kalgoorlie-Boulder at around 4 o'clock, today really felt like a long day but the long drives are now over so its time to relax have a beer or two, dinner and find a fourbie track on the Nullabor that will be tomorrow nights home...

We will be out of range for the next few days but don't worry fellow followers we will write everyday and send a mass post out when we get back into some reception...

Anyway Heba has the din din's ready so I'm going to enjoy some chicken and noodles with lil Miss Lead Foot Heba Durner...

Catch you on the flip flop

CJ & H xx
